The first season of Buffy The Vampire
Slayer hit DVD in January. Here’s my opinion of
that set.

The Seventh Season Of Buffy
Ain’t It Cool News
has once again rounded up a decent amount of
information about the next season of Buffy The
Vampire Slayer. Two recent articles talk about
official
information from the ATAS meeting given by Joss
Whedon and others and more
official snippets from various sources. Neither
article mentions the guest role for Britney Spears
that is going to happen. (I saw the video footage of
Joss confirming this at the Saturn awards.) Did
anyone out there choose to endure Crossroads?
Perhaps you could let us know how well she’d fit into
this cast.
“Buffy” Buffy-less in Season Eight?
According to Marti Noxon, as quoted in this
Sci-Fi Wire article, there is a chance that there
will be an eighth season of Buffy: The Vampire
Slayer without Sarah Michelle Gellar. If that
happens, I’m sure it’ll be the final season. The
X-Files had two productive years without Mulder,
but then again, that show has never been called
The Mulder Files.
Buffy ending for real?
As many of you know, Joss Whedon hates unfinished
stories, so he plots every season of Buffy and
Angel as though it were the last. Well,
according to this
article, Nicholas Brendon says that the
seventh season of Buffy, which airs on UPN
starting in September, will be the last. The
reasons he gives sound pretty sensible, and very
believable.
Buffy Season 2 DVD has a release date
Once again, Amazon is listing DVDs before their
release is officially announced. Look for the
second season of Buffy The Vampire
Slayer to hit DVD on June 11.
Musical Buffy Extra Long
Next Tuesday’s musical episode of Buffy will run longer than the hour it’s been allotted, according to this IGN article. I can’t find any indication of this on the new official page though, nor can I find the post IGN quotes Joss making on the Bronze Beta web page.
Buffy: Year One
It looks like a comic book title, doesn’t it? It’s not the official title,
but Jeph Loeb (who produces “Batman Beyond”) is going with, more-or-less,
that concept for the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” animated series. All kinds
of scoopage right here.
Giles’ show quieter and "grown up"
Erf writes, Sci Fi Wire is reporting what Joss Whedon has said about Giles’s Buffy spinoff: it’ll be a “grown-up, quiet show about a cool, grown-up, non-teen-age man quietly solving ghost stories.”
Box O’ Buffy News
Maybe the Buffster needs her own category here… anyway. Whole big pack of random rumors, most of which came from AICN if you wanna track ’em down: Spike will switch shows, from Buffy to Angel; Angel may not even be a show anymore, as WB is considering a vengeful retributive cancellation for losing Buffy; Giles, of all the minor characters, may get his own show – but it’s likely to be a UK-only affair. In other news, Sarah Michelle Gellar and I are getting married late this fall. Take ’em all with the requisite five-pound-bag-of-salt.
Buffy moving to UPN
It’s official. UPN has picked up Buffy The Vampire Slayer for a two year contract, at $2.3M per episode. I just hope they keep the same broadcast deals they have with the current Canadian broadcasters. I don’t get the WB or UPN up here…
