So, how has the final (to date) Star Trek series fared over the last decade?

45 Things I (Still) Love About Star Trek
45 Years ago today, an American icon debuted on NBC. Back then we hadn’t landed on the moon, but were trying like mad. Racial tensions were high. Kennedy’s assassination was still in recent memory and the Vietnam War was in full swing.
It was cutting edge then and I wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the many things I (and many fans) love about this franchise.
Star Trek Back On TV?
Be still my little heart, but plans are underway to get the venerable franchise back on television.
William Shatner Turns 80!
Holy hairpieces! Not only active, but thriving as he crosses the 80-year-old mark. Bill, you may be a ham, but we’ll always love you. Happy Birthday.

Night of the Living Trekkies
Awesome. Just…awesome.
The book is out now and if it’s half as cool as the trailer, it will be a blast.
Get a Piece of Star Trek: The Experience
It looks as though Star Trek: The Experience is well and truly dead. The props and set pieces are being auctioned off tomorrow in Las Vegas. If you’re there and get something, get us a photo.
JJ Abrams Star Trek Sequel Gets Release Date
ComingSoon.net has reported that JJ Abrams as yet untitled sequel to Star Trek (which I’m going to call Star Trek XII for now, to avoid confusion), has gotten a release date for Fourth of July Weekend, 2012.
At the Box Office: Up Stays…well…Up
The latest Pixar film holds the top spot for its second week, with “The Hangover” coming in a close second.
Meanwhile, Will Ferrill’s run as Box Office Catnip may be over with his latest (and widely advertised) “Land of the Lost” coming in a distant third.
Also of note, Star Trek is still running in the top 5, and with $222 million to date is still the highest grossing film of 2009. Yeah. A Star Trek film. Highest grossing of the year. At some point all those words in one sentence will parse in my brain.
