Ask and ye shall receive. Here’s
some news on Spirited Away, the highest
grossing film in Japanese history, created by the
director of Princess Mononoke, which
used to be the highest grossing film in Japanese
history.
Another “Spider-Man” review appears
Another review of the Spider-Man film is up on this page of the Home Theater Forum. There are some spoilers about the premise, so be careful in reading it. The short version: a person who hadn’t read the comics found the movie imperfect, but highly recommendable, and gave it 4 stars out of 5. The part that excites me most is the 120 minute running time, which tells me that Raimi wasn’t asked to edit for length. (To see what kind of damage that can do, compare the two versions of the bedroom scene on the X-Men DVD.)

Dr. Sam Beckett and Al reunited on Enterprise
Bombadil
writes, Ok, so it isn’t really Sam and it
isn’t really Al, but UPN has released
news that Dean Stockwell will play an alien
on an upcoming Enterprise.
Oh PLEASE PLEASE have the guts for Archer to
say “Oh Boy!”
Text of SCI-FI
Wire news bit here:
UPN has released spoilery details of the upcoming
Enterprise episode that reunites Scott Bakula
(Capt. Jonathan Archer) with his former Quantum
Leap co-star Dean Stockwell. The episode,
“Detained,” is slated to air April 24.
In the episode, Archer and Mayweather (Anthony
Montgomery) are detained in an internment prison
by an alien race called Tandarans, who are at war
with the Sulibans. Stockwell guest-stars as Col.
Grat, a Tandaran military commander who clashes
with Bakula’s Archer.
Enterprise: Oasis
Wanna see something really scary? So would I, but alas we’ll just have to suffice with another episode of Enterprise. Click "Read More" if you dare.
Spider-Man movie review
There’s a review of the Spider-Man review available here. This is not as positive as the review of the novelization we had here in March. Reading David Poland’s review, it sounds like some moments were cut for length, and the editors chose the wrong moments. Still, there’s spoiler-free and spoiler-full versions of the movie review for those who want to read the opinion of someone more familiar with the comic book.
Ewan MacGregor aging Make-Up Test
AICN has what appears to be a make-up test for Ewan MacGregor. Check out the phenomenal work here. I used to be concerned about the obviously different actor playing Obi-Wan, and the jump in appearance that we’d get between episodes 3 and 4. I’m no longer worried.
Show renewals and cencellations
AICN is carrying a USA Today article with a list of which shows are likely to be renewed (Angel, Buffy, Charmed, Enterprise, Futurama, Sabrina, Simpsons, Smallville), which are likely to be cancelled (Roswell, Special Unit 2, The Tick, Wolf Lake, The X-Files), and which are on the bubble (Dark Angel, Greg the Bunny). Follow the link for a more complete list.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Dr Who DVDs
Cymor
writes, The Dr. Who DVDs:
Caves of Androzani
Remembrance of the Daleks
were released April 2nd.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy will be
released April 30th. It will have all six
episodes and a lot of extra features.
Are there any other interesting DVD
releases on the horizon people want to talk about?
