Another week, another rerun. This show deserved a
longer run on the air.

The major networks have announced their primetime
schedules for the fall portion of the 2005-2006
season. I threw together a programming grid and
posted it here.
Confirmed new shows are listed in italics. Some
interesting changes, which I’ll discuss further below.

Sci-Fi Channel To Air Firefly Starting July 22
rickyjames
writes, Woo hoo de hoo hoo !!! Your Big Damn
Heroes and mine are making it back to the small screen
before they make it onto the big screen! As reported
by The Futon Critic: The Sci Fi Channel has
landed the repeat rights to all 15 hours of the
short-lived FOX series (and basis of the upcoming
“Serenity” feature film). The network’s July schedule
lists the series as joining its Friday lineup on July
22 at 7:00/6:00c where it will precede original
episodes of “Stargate SG-1,” “Stargate Atlantis” and
“Battlestar Galactica.”
Movie Discussion – “Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist”
I have very little faith in this project. A genre
prequel to a 1970s blockbuster that comes out the day
after Star Wars? Releasing this in this time
seems to me more like a bid to catch the overflow
traffic when Star Wars sells out. The last
time I noticed a movie getting released in this way it
was Lawnmower Man 2.
Smallville Review – “Commencement”
The fourth season comes to a close.

Weekly Comics Discussion – Wednesday, May 18, 2005
This week’s shipping
list includes such notables as Green Lantern
Secret Files 2005, which is the item I plan to
take home. Also of interest are Daredevil
#73, Exiles #64, Giant Size
Marvel, Marvel Knights 4 #18, and
Ultimate X-Men #59.
Extra-long “Smallville”
Just a reminder that tonight’s Smallville
season finale is in a 90 minute time slot, and will
include an eight minute preview of Batman
Begins.
Forbes compares Star Wars to Star Trek
Forbes.com is continuing Star Wars coverage
with Star
Wars vs. Star Trek, pitching the two best known
sci-fi franchises head to head. Which one comes out
on top?
Century City Review – “Pilot”
There was one vote for a full series review, and one
for individual episode reviews. I’ll cast the
tiebreaker myself and review each of the nine episodes
individually.
