When I wrote this week’s Digital Disk Picks last week, it looked like virtually all releases this week were coming on Wednesday, Dec. 26 instead of Tuesday, Dec. 25. It has since been announced that Battlestar Galactica 1980 has its release dated moved to today, Sunday, December 23 instead. If you’re doing any last minute shopping for someone who wants really, really bad sci fi, keep this in mind.

Razor Discussion
joe__gee has pointed out that we should at least have a discussion up for Battlestar Galactica: Razor. We held off on that so far because we’ll have a review of the extended edition up next week, when it hits the home video market. If you can’t wait until then to talk about it, chime in here.
Galactica’s Last Season Pushed Back? (again?)
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the final season will premiere not in January, but in April. At least “Razor” is still on for later this month, though one two-hour movie is precious little solace.

Battlestar Galactica seaon 4 being split?
Dark Nexus writes, Comments from the BSG panel from DragonCon seem to indicate that Sci-Fi is splitting the season into a pair of 10 episode half-seasons and will air the second half starting in February 2009. Some people are interpreting the comments as a joke though, so take this with a grain of salt. Also, be warned that there are major spoilers in there for those of us following the show on DVD.
BSG spoilers from SDCC

Galactica’s Fourth Season Will Be Its Last
Producers Ron Moore and David Eick have confirmed that the fourth season of Galactica will be the last. Rumors that a spinoff, “Galactica 2009,” is being worked on are unconfirmed.
Galactica – Not Dead Yet
Apparently Olmos was talking out of his nether regions when he said the fourth season would be the last for Battlestar Galactica. David Eick says: “For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show’s end,” chuckled Eick. “I promise you that when [executive producer] Ron [Moore] and I make a decision about Galactica’s future, we’ll let you know.”
