Legends of Tomorrow Review: “Legendary”

“I can’t pretend to understand this time travel thing, but it sounds important.”
–Captain Lance, trying not to sound absurd

While Ollie and Dig sneak around a suburban dystopia in the most conspicuous manner possible over on Arrow, Captain Lance takes time to guest-star on the season finale of Legends, which has the team jumping through history and previous episodes in a desperate attempt to end Vandal Savage for all time, before he can reset time with himself as master of the world.

Legends of Tomorrow Discussion: “Progeny”

Legends heads to a grim future of corporate feudalism and really bad gray suits, and addresses those perennial favorites of time-travel questions: if you could go back in time and kill Hitler Per Degaton while he was still a boy, whould you do it? Should you do it?

The consideration of the question is good, if not original. The execution of the show remains uneven, and it raises several questions:

Legends of Tomorrow Discussion: “Marooned”

This week, the Waverider, carrying blue paint, crashed into some space pirates, whose ship is carrying red paint, and both crews are marooned.*

Okay, okay… Sorry. The conflict has a very silly instigating incident (Rip can’t recognize an obvious trap) but it made for an occasionally fun Star Trek / early SF TV homage that mines the potential for this series when our heroes don’t have to focus on Vandal Savage. It gets bogged down by two dubious romance subplots, one of which involves a ridiculous and derivative Time Masters law.
