Firefly DVD set has been nominated for a Saturn in the “Best DVD Television Release”
category. Saturns are awarded by the Academy of
Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. Membership
is only $40 for an out of state membership – i wonder
if there is time to vote :o) That link also has
a complete list of nominations. If I were a betting
man, I’d bet on X2, LOTR:ROTK,
28 Days Later, Kill Bill Vol. 1,
Finding Nemo, Viggo Mortenson, Jennifer
Connelly, Andy Serkis, Keira Knightley, (don’t know
for the child actors), Peter Jackson, the
LOTR:ROTK team, Howard Shore (although I
prefer Danny Elfman’s work), Ngila Dickson and
Richard Taylor, Rick Baker’s team, and the LOTR team
for effects. As for the TV nominations, I don’t
watch enough to feel comfortable voting in all
categories, but I think Alexis Denisof deserves to
win. He’s done fantastic work.

Firefly movie on Universal Website
Anonymous Coward writes, I just saw this over at Sci-Fi Storm. I know everyone will
want to know…
There’s nothing else to the Universal site, but it’s hopeful to see “Serenity” listed.
Firefly movie to film in May?
The details are up at Cinescape.
In short, while there is no official announcement,
there is mounting evidence to suggest that a
Firefly movie titled Serenity will
start filming in May.

Whedon Provides “Firefly” Hints
Sci-Fi Wire has the full article. Basically, he hints at what plot threads will be addressed in the film.
Firefly: “Heart of Gold”
A brothel on yet another goram rock in space is in a heap o’ trouble, and Mal and the crew ride on in to help’em out. This is the last of the so-called “lost” episodes of Firefly, not broadcast in the show’s original run. Not since “The Train Job” has the show taken its western elements so literally and, while its not the strongest episode, it works a lot better than that Fox-ordered second pilot. If you missed it on Space, you can find it on the DVD.
Firefly: “The Message.”
Space has broadcast the second of the “lost” episodes of Firefly, previously unaired in North America. It follows immediately from “Trash,” and is one of the show’s strongest eps. Expect to find it on the DVD.
CFQ To Publish Firefly Episode Guide
rickyjames writes, CFQ magazine (formerly known as Cinefantastique) is going to print a Firefly episode guide in an upcoming issue; watch your local newsstand! Their various sci-fi series ep guides and ratings are widely viewed as an industry-standard; the fact they are doing one on Firefly is a great thing. In the meantime, the article text is going up in serialized format here.
